They are huge, earth-shattering machines that attract attention with their sheer power when at work. This massive machinery, excavators, have impressed many over the years by their sheer size and strength. Yet, some are bigger than others are and reserved for major construction or heavy-duty jobs that only they can perform, and most often in the hardest of terrains.
This is a list of the world’s top five hydraulic excavators, listed with some of the details of power, working weight, excavator undercarriage strength among other details.
Brands and Excavator Parts
Before we look at the big five, here are some other tidbits about this heavy equipment. Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, and Kobelco are some of the brands of heavy machinery that are available all over the world. Other brands include Samsung, Daewoo, Linkbelt, John Deere, Case, Yanmar, Kubota.

Other similar heavy machinery such as dozers, need careful inspection and maintenance services to ensure that the power they display and possess is only used for the purpose intended and no injury, destruction or fatalities result from defective excavator parts.

Excavator parts and other machinery components fall under a number of categories.

Excavator undercarriage components include idler, track shoes, sprocket, recoil spring, carrier roller, track group, link protection and track link, among others. Working components consist of bucket assembly, ripper, cylinder, bucket tooth, and boom. Engine components are another category that consist of some components such as crankshaft, filter head, gear pump, muffler et cetera.
